If you own a camera or camcorder that uses SD cards, chances are you’ve confounded yourself at some point trying to figure out how fast a card you need (or want) for your device. This is complicated by a lot of factors, primarily that the Class specification defines a minimum sustained transfer rate–Class 6 is 6 megabytes per second, Class 10 is 10MBps, and so on.

Sprint ( NYSE: S ) today announced pricing and nationwide availability for the highly anticipated Palm Pre phone, offered exclusively from Sprint. Palm Pre will be available nationwide on June 6 in Sprint stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, select Wal-Mart stores and online at Sprint.com for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Sprint has high hopes for the device: “It’s the highest confidence I’ve ever had going into a device launch that this is going to be a blockbuster,” said Kevin Packingham, senior vice president for product and technology development at Sprint.

Samsung Europe announces the WB1000, a 24mm ultra wide angle, 5x optical zoom digital camera with a 3.0 inch AMOLED monitor. The AMOLED screen consumes less power and offers a higher contrast ratio of 10,000:1, producing darker black levels, more vibrant colors, and a brighter display which can easily be viewed outdoors, and even in direct sunlight.
