Sony announced three new Alpha Digital SLR models, the DSLR-A380, DSLR-A330 and DSLR-A230. These three new DSLRs are designed for first-time digital SLR buyers, making the transition from point-and-shoot to the first steps in DSLR photography easier. Sony announced four new lenses, the DT 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens (model SAL-1855), DT 55-200mm F/4-5.6 telephoto zoom lens (model SAL-55200/2), DT 50mm F/1.8 portrait lens (model SAL-50F18) and DT 30mm F/2.8 macro lens (model SAL-30M28) and a new HVL-F20AM compact external flash. The DT 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens and the DT 55-200mm F/4-5.6 telephoto zoom lens are available separately, or packaged as kits with the new Alpha DSLR cameras

On Tuesday I went down to spend some time with Adobe’s Lightroom team down in San Jose (more on that later) and had a great opportunity to meet for the first time and visit with one my favorite photographers Kelly Castro . Kelly not only works on the Lightroom team at Adobe, but he is also doing some of the most interesting new photography around today. Kelly’s on Flickr as kelco and one project that I’ve especially admired over the past year and a half or so has been his unique collection of black and white portrait work entitled “ exteriors .” Kelly is currently working on a book for this project and is very close to completing the photography for this project.
I thought I’d put out a post after I received my first earnings report (which I received today) from stock photography agency Getty Images. I signed up to have Getty represent 60 of my individual photographs as part of the recent deal between Getty Images and Flickr.
